Description
This bird was one I found a Robinson Preserve, a lovely natural preserve near Bradenton, FL. I had no idea of the species and researched it on the internet after I completed the painting. I think it is a juvenile Black Crowned Night Heron as does Will, the very helpful person to whom I asked the question when I took the painting to Wild Birds Unlimited here in Tampa.
