Welcome to my website. I hope you will enjoy my work as much as I do creating it. The following is a brief art biography – Barbara Moak Barbara has always loved art. As a young girl Barbara would visit a secluded site in the woods neighboring her upstate New York home to observe and sketch birds in their natural habitat. She attended the State University of New York at New Paltz and the University of New York at Albany. At New Paltz, Barbara studied under George Wexler and Sheldon Schoenberg whom she credits with teaching her the fundamentals of drawing (Prof Schoenberg told his students if they couldn’t learn to “see” they would never be artists.) She credits this with providing her the foundation for her paintings. While...

Thank you, Anne. Dan, the first guy from the right commissioned the work and then he bought a print for the wife of one of the other surfers who had passed. Dan, also sent me a picture framed and hung in his den. I am always thrilled when people do that. It's such an honor.

I can relate, Dan who commissioned the painting was a friend and my skydiving instructor in college. He tried to teach me to surf but I guess I was not coordinated enough because I could never stand upright on the board! LOL
