Description
This abandoned building was one that invokes a wonderful memory of my youth in upstate New York-New Scotland. Across the trees and a few houses up the road was my childhood home and there was a railroad between the building and my home. I never knew if I grew up on the wrong or right side of the tracks but it really made no difference. My siblings, neighbor kids and I, at a young age, used to walk to the store in the front of the building to buy penny candies. It is still a wonderful memory of the owners Emily and Ralph being patient with us while we decided our choice of candy. (It was also the first time I got bit by a dog!) I am still researching when it was built but I know it was before the 1940's.

Lovely tribute to childhood memories! (looking at the details under the roof, I bet this building is older--possibly late 1800s) l/f
Barbara Moak replied:
Thank you, Marsha for the comment. I am sure it is older and I am still trying to learn the date of construction.
